Becoming a part of a data center demands expertise in various areas and an in-depth understanding of some essential skills. CDCP-001 has managed to cover all these concepts and technologies through its five domains.

• Fundamentals of cooling II: Humidity in the Data Center

  The point of attraction of the fifth exam section is humidity and why one must maintain its optimal levels in a data center. Candidates should learn more about how to address queries related to common cooling devices, humidity & static electricity, humidity nature, and dew point control. Ways to control the humidity in a data center, relative humidity control ways, humidification system, OSP’s, converted office space, and short cycling are some other focal points of this domain.

• Fundamentals of Cooling

  Cooling is an important aspect of a data center and this is what the fourth module explains. What the role of cooling is, how it has evolved throughout the years, the physics of this process, and common heat transfer methods are some of the areas which this domain is trying to bring in public’s light. Concepts like airflow in IT spaces, heat generation methods, common gas law, evaporation, compression, condensation, and expansion along with evaporator are also meticulously covered.

• Fundamentals of Availability

  The topics under this section include measuring business values, limitations of 99.999%, A/C power conditions, common cooling issues. Besides, the five 9’s of availability, key factors affecting the availability, most frequent equipment failures, human errors, natural & artificial disasters, and the calculation of the downtime cost are also explained in a diligent manner.

• Examining Fire protection methods in the Data Center

  The prime focus of the second domain is to impart key fire protection methods used in a data center and making it a safe and sound place. It begins with a quick introduction and extends with the role of the national fire protection association, preventive measures, fire triangle, and objectives of the fire protection system.

  The learning goes a bit extensive as this module also covers the topics like fire classes, combustion stages, key fire detection devices, common smoke detectors, ISTD, handling of fire extinguishers, fire suppression ways, reliable water sprinkler systems, and how to use a waster mist suppression system.

• Fundamentals of Cabling strategies for Data Centers

  How should the cabling in a data center be made and what are common types of data center cables are the most important questions the third exam domain tries to answer. All the cabling installation instructions, cable management, common cable layout architectures, as well as cable maintenance practices are well covered in this domain too.

General Exam Profile

CDCP-001 is a diligently designed exam that consists of 40 multiple-choice questions. These should be completed in a strict 60-minute timeline. The minimum passing score for this test is 65%, and once achieved, it comes with lifetime validity.

The candidates can take up CDCP-001 via online mode only which is administered and proctored by ProctorU. Finally, it is a closed book exam, so no reference material can be used during it.
